Technical removing omp rollcage

i need to take the rollcage out the cinq (possibly for sale too), im not really sure how i can do it, looking at it i dont think i can get it out through the door

has anyone taken one out or put one in able to give me some tips, cause i dont want to undo all the bolts then find it wont come out

On topicI presume he meant straps that have a ratchet mechanish to pull the legs a bit. Doesn't sound that wise to me, unless you don't want it anymore though, may put pressure on the welds or deform the bars.

Not got any ideas myself though

No bending of tubes is required, its just a patience and carefully does it job.

Nope, but those are the lyrics for Evanescence's song Tourniquet.

Kristian is right - that is what I meant - looping a piece of strapping around each leg (say the B pillar legs) and using a piece of bar and applying pressure to bend the legs in slightly. This should not deform the structure - after all, cages are designed to stop a shell from being crushed in an accident. In fact, I think you need to use a tourniquet on cages in Minis

if it a ball ache to get out then it will be sold, i needs to come out so i can grind down some supports it bolts onto as it's cutting through the seat belt. it not bolted in properly either so would have to get that looked at

It does'nt, the front cage unbolts, the cross stays unbolt and then the main hoop and backstays come out in a oner.

Thanks Gaz, I think we puzzled quite a few people in mcdonalds with the removal of the seats and insertion of the cage in mcdonalds. Its all bolted and welded in securely now. For those who have to remove one, the whole cage goes in through the front doors with the front seats out.
