I need to replace a hose which you can see disconnected on the image but there is another small hose which I cannot get at unless I remove the cover which I presume is something to do with the inlet manifold from the airbox to engine IMAG0261.jpg, any ideas how this comes off.

From your picture, your car appears to be a 16V petrol engined model. If this is the case, the breather pipe you wish to replace has quick release connectors at both ends so I don't understand the need to dismantle anything. The connector attached to the rear camshaft cover should be accessible if you first remove the pollen filter box.

I did know about the yellow push plastic that releases this tube but I could not get at it as it was underneath and neither me nor my teenage son could get our fingers in, anyways landed up cutting it small enough so I could turn it around and get access to the yellow part it was still hard to release but eventually it came off and obviously putting the new one on was a job done in seconds, thanks for the feedback folks.
