Technical remote tailgate release on stilo mw

Hi I have an 05 stilo 1.9 MW it has a single piece tailgate with no manual lock. Problem is my remote is not working and I don't really want to pay for key code etc. Is there a setting in menu that will allow the tailgate to be operated from the lock/unlock button on drivers inside door panel? Also anyone know how to open it from the inside manually i understand there is some sort of emergency way from inside the tailgate. Thanks in advance.

There's no setting to change the function of the driver's door switch panel. The lock/unlock button locks/unlocks the tailgate by default anyway. Your problem is probably with the micro switch in the tailgate handle that opens the tailgate. This has been posted about several times on the forum.

Emergency opening procedure for the tailgate as shown in the handbook is below.

Thanks Darren I hadn't looked into the micro switch as I thought on the active model it was not fitted.

The microswitch is actuated from the rubber like pad that you'll feel when you reach under the gate, above the number plate if it's like the 5 door.
