When i lock the car with the remote, a few seconds later the alarm sets off. If i lock the car with the key in the lock, everything works as per the remote, however the alarm does not set off. Any ideas as to why this is happening???

Hi there.

Locking with the key doesn't arm the alarm, I don't think......(?). Locking with the remote, does.

It seems that one of the sensors for the alarm is activating. The likely candidate on Myrtle (my old Multipla) used to be the bonnet not being fully closed. Also the hatch didn't always latch correctly. If you try to arm the alarm with something not shut, it does trigger the alarm, shortly after it is set.

Try re-shutting all the doors, bonnet and boot, firmly and then re-setting via the remote. If it goes off again, count the number of flashes on the little red LED light in the middle of the dash. If I remember correctly, the number of flashes tells you which sensor has been triggered. And that's where your problem is.

If I am incorrect, I won't be offended if anyone puts me right! :)

Hope this helps, anyway. Panda.

i'll check this thanks, any idea which number is for which sensor though?

Hi again!

It tells you in the handbook I think. I no longer have a Multipla so I can't check for you, I'm afraid. Sorry.

Good luck with it though!
