remap and clutch question..

for anyone who has had a remap on a jtd with a standard clutch, what effects if any has it had ?. I've had a mild remap to approx 115 and i notice a mild vibration/juddering from the engine when flooring it hard in 5th. it only lasts until maybe 2300 rpm. the clutch is otherwise ok, and the car has only done 46000 (its the original clutch afaik). I'd expect a clutch to just slip if the torque was too much..
Anyone else seen this on a remap ?.

115 remap???? who did that??


Had an angel tuning remap from 50k with standard clutch... now on 93k no problems running 132bhp and loads or tourque!!!

Scotty's another man to speak too, he's pursuing 160bhp+ at the moment...plenty of clutch action at his camp

who done it - well thats another story but just wonderin if the clutch could be acting the mickey. I seriously wonder how long scotty's will last at 160 though.. thats pushin the clutch and the engine a bit - I wonder does it smoke badly ?

160's ok...


I had 154bhp for about 15,000miles... just ate too many tyres.


Lozz had 170bhp.


Bhp only gives you top end speed.. it's the tourque that matters.


Well if the clutch is guddering then I'd say your remap is pants!!



done 50k with a remap and the car is still fine!!

I know higher remaps than 130 are possible but driveabilty suffers a bit..

According to who??

I was in Scotty's Brava a few weeks back, currently at around 150BHP and that thing flew!! If anything the driveability was much improved. Tommy's vids are impressive but sitting a car that's doing it is something else...it was smooth, quiet and felt totally effortless getting to the ton (on private roads of course ).

He did admit my "wee" motor was much better though
