as in title i need one to go from croydon to reading is about 70 miles anyone ever done anything like this, and or know the costs roughly?

I think recovery companies charge an absolute fortune hence the rise in popularity of breakdown cover.

I paid my mate 65 quid. Nottingham to chesterfield. 28 miles one way as he was in nottm anyway.
You can buy a solid draw bar from machine mart for about 10 quid and I'm pretty shure they're legal on motorways. With the saving you could pay a tramp off the street to steer the other car.
