Hi, just a quick question - I've searched through the threads on rear wheel bearing replacement and various posters have confirmed that it's a quick job, but is that a quick job for the garage with a relevant press, or a quick job for the DIY mechanic with a jack, axle stands and a socket set? My offside rear has settled into a low rumble over the past few weeks and I can get the part on eBay easily enough, but will I have to pay my friendly local mechanic to fit it for me?

Many thanks, Tim

Rear wheel bearing is a 20-30 minute job.

Jack car up, remove wheel, remove calliper and disk, remove end cap from hub, remove 32mm nut (will be tight) and tap hub off.

I had to change it 3 times on my car due to them wearing out. Final time took me just under 15 mins :)

(I done this on a ramp with air tools, an air gun would be best for the hub locking nut)

Awesome. many thanks for the reply and the info. Will order the part and hopefully report back in due course that it has been successful.
