General Rear View Mirror problem

Anyone got any thoughts on how to attach a replacement rearview mirror to the windscreen of my Qubo?


The original came off in my hand.


I have tried most of the various glues and sticky pads but it just won't stay on.


Autoglass suggested that a new windscreen might be the only option as the replacement windscreen will come with the mirror boss attached to slide the original mirror back on.


Seems a bit extreme but I am so fed up a brick through the windscreen will make me feel better and solve the problem! £70 in excess mind....

you can get some mirror glue that got some mesh with it
I have used this and it works fine

Thanks, yes I tried the mesh and glue kit. I have another mesh and will have another go.


It was really tricky to hold the mirror to the windscreen long enough to get a grip.


I might see if I can jam a length of wood to hold it tight over a long time period.


It has been really cold with us as well (Scottish Highlands) so it may be that it drops off with lower temps.

Remove the mirror from the wedge shaped bracket and you will find it a lot easier
