Hello,

My punto is Mk2b 8v, and today i started to have a strange problem.
When i turned on the right turn signal, it started to flash fast, but then it
worked ok.
I thought that maybe one of the turn signal lights need to be changed,
but when i checked i noticed that when the right turn signal is on,
the brake light is also flashing.

Here is a video:

Is it "earth" issue ?
Can it be fixed easily?

Many thanks.

Classic Punto Earthing problem in the light cluster

See this guide
You will probably find a manky earthing pin which just needs shining up

The Bulbs aren't able to earth via the correct route - so it back track and goes down another route to try and earth, but since it's passed through another bulb it's lowered voltage means it can pass through the corroded or manky earthing pin

Easy sort :)

Thanks for the replies.

Is there a guide on how to remove the rear light cluster?

Thank you Andy, great videos.

I removed the light cluster today, and indeed there was a slight corrosion
on one of the pins.
I cleaned that, and it's now working again like it should,
but i noticed the plastic at the bottom of that pin is slightly melted.
Should it be ok, or do i need to replace something there?

I attached a picture of this.

Thank you.

as resistance has increased and demand, its generated heat
As a result the plastic did get hot yes
Check your connector too!

But as long as it tight and secure and no fault been produced, i would leave it be

Thank you, the connector is ok, didn't melt, and clean from corrosion.

Doesn't look too bad and as you've caught it and cleaned it up early enough I suspect it will be ok, If the light reappears on the dash then I would re-investigate

Thank you.
Btw, in my car there isn't a light on the dash that indicates a problem
in the car lights.
