well one job that has not been done is the rear subframe bushes,as we know fiat dont sell them and have seen some on ebay but are they any good ?have any of you bought some and from which ebay seller ??
I, like a few others, have successfully used Vauxhall Vectra bushes (for the front ones), but they need a little machining of the housing to make them fit. Subframe Bushes2
Search around the forum this question is frequent and vauxhaull do make them so does some company in Italy on eBay if u can't find it ill have a look for u
hi marty, clicked on the links that you have bought from and the links arent there ?? well the first two links....did you have to alter them or were they a straight fit ??
If you go down the Vauxhall route (or any other that need machining to fit), bear in mind that the front two need to be a good tight press fit in the subframe.
Because of the geometry of the rear suspension, there is some downwards loading on the front of the subframe at times.
I didn't really think about it when I did mine, but the right one (front) has since become loose in the subframe, and clonks when hitting bumps/dips.
There will also be a downwards loading on the front bushes under braking.
if it takes a week or two to sort out delivery etc, i'll try to do a thread on fitting aswell once i've got everything and an hour or so to get the bug on the ramps, try to domy forum bit eh!
