General Rear seats rattling

My passenger side rear seat rattles. When the seat is in the up position and I go over a bump the whole seat rattles/bangs. I can recreate the sound by hitting the back of the seat with my hand. It doesn't make the noise when the seats are down. The seat on the other side doesn't make the same noise. I'm certain it's not coming from the part where it clamps onto the loop that locks it in the up position. I have tried wrapping tape around the loop but it made no effect on the noise.

Anyone else got this or know how to solve it, short of removing the seats?!?

Seats isn't locked in properly, happens a lot on 500's

Assuming you haven't got a mechanical fault..,

the catch is a 2 - position affair,
it MAY be only on the 1st catch,
try opening it ( folding down) then bring it back + over centre sharply, that MAY help get it locked home,

Mine do this when they're not latched in properly. As described above, be firm with it.

I have tried slamming them in but since then I've had my golf clubs in the back so can't be certain if it's stopped it or not...

I'll take them out and check when I go home shortly.

See if you can remove the trim around the catch, then you can see if it is locking in properly. You'll also see if it is adjustable.
