Re: How Many Doblo's! The Official Thread!

Aside from mine, a neighbour 100 yards down the road has one & there's another 300 yards the other direction.
Coming out of a local car park yesterday I drove past one with a wheelchair lift built into the back.
They're getting quite popular round here.

Oh, and the dealer who sold it to me rang this morning to see how I was getting on - I wonder what he's after?
Perhaps they've never sold one before & want to know what it's like?

Re: How Many Doblo's! The Official Thread Discussion!

I see lots around now in my local area, before I bought one I only ever saw one Doblo owned by a taxi driver, now every bu**er's got one

So I had to modify mine to make it unique again :D

Re: How Many Doblo's! The Official Thread Discussion!

I sometimes get waves from other Doblo'ers  (not vans). We must be quite a friendly bunch. I had a Panda hire car and another Panda driver gave me a wave.
Is it a Fiat thing?

That always used to happen years ago, sort of an unofficial owners club & the habit sort of phased out but it's good to see a bit of courtesy on the roads. Us Dobbin owners should stick together - even the vans.

Re: How Many Doblo's! The Official Thread Discussion!

There is only one type of vehicle I know (apart from really expensive cars) where the majority of owners still wave at each other, and that's the people driving Landrover Defenders!

My local Landrover specialist keeps a stock of flasher stalks as people keep using them too much and wearing them out!

usually to let the AA man know where they have broken down......

More seriously...... A couple of months ago I used Mrs_G's Cargo to do a delivery late one evening. My route was from Coventry to Kent. Not long after joining the M1 I became aware of another Cargo following me down the motorway. As I left the M1 to join the M25 he accelerated to a point where we could 'eyeball' eachother and he gave me a cheery wave..... I did wonder if I'd seen another FF member?

Re: How Many Doblo's! The Official Thread Discussion!

In all honesty I have waved and received waves from people in Doblo's, and I've spoken to a few people with them in car parks etc.

But whenever someone waves it me, it tends to be of the age category 70+... I'll never forget the day after I picked up the car when they were rare round here I had a wave off an old couple as they drove past

no one has ever waved to me in the van, but they used to in the Cinq Sporting and Seicento Sporting. it is a little bit of a Fiat thing, although not exclusive.
