I'd probably get the electric one petrol ones are annoying to keep running right, although servoes can be expensive, Get it and i'll race my tamiya impreza against it! although I should probably rebuild the gearboxes first it sounds like a bag of gravel in a washing machine.

nitro cars are great to play with in your bedroom but not as good when you actually want to use them. battery powered cars are far more reliable, easier to use and maintain, have much more torque, the only disadvantage is you dont get the nitro engine noise, oh and tyres wear quicker.

Check out ebay for all sorts of rc car stuff at the moment, BRCA has just effectively banned all of last years cells due to possible safety issues due to overcharging. Therefore most people who race competitively are having to change all the batterys with many changing to lipo cells, which need different chargers. So chargers, dischargers, and cells are a plenty on ebay. Also many people are going brushless so speed controllers and brushed motors are very cheap at the moment.
