Rattle when clutch is out!?

Hi all, im wondering if any1 can help, i have a small may b major problem wth my 1996 1.4 bravo. i encounterd the same problem with my punto before i got rid of it. after using the car for about ten mins, when i stop and take the car out of gear and let my foot off the clutch there is a small rattle coming from the engine. am i going mad!!?? im thinking this may b a typical fiat problem as it happend with my punto, but i neva had that long enough for the problem to have major problems. any ideas would b great help as my local garage were not 2 sure. cheers

Loose bearing

Its probably a loose bearing on the gear box drive!

It doesnt do it under throttle when moving i take it! As the slack is taken up by the force of the movement!

WOrth changing or fixing - no!

Id leave it and see if it develops! CHange ur gear box oil for some really good stuff and see how that goes!

I have the same problem - has it been long since its last service?

i had it serviced about 2months ago, before the service the problem was there but not as bad. after the service it went away for a while.
how long have u had your problem for?

And it goes away when i have a service or when i change the gear box iol!

i had this same problem with my 1.4 1996 bravo as well. i just left and thought nothing of it

this cost me 600 pound for a new gearbox when it fell to pieces. all the gears on the pinion were stripped as the noise was a chipped tooth on first gear. the chipped tooth wrecked the whole box and was unrepairable.

if its this, yeah its expensive

ive had the problem for a year now and was advised by my garage to leave it..

he sed at worst it can will be a tooth.. probably is cuz i remember realy badly crunching a gear one day, a few weeks after i notaced the noise cuz its not that bad

and def doesnt make the noise louder when driving around. he sed it was expensive to get it sorted so aslong as it didnt get worse or blow up...leave it.
