Sounds like you've got it sorted now. Was this on a Fiat 500 or 500L? The 500's look easier as aerial base is closer to the back of the car. I couldn't get the roof lining down enough on our 500L to get my hands in so had to take it to Fiat in the end.

I think I need a new aerial base. Looking at you tube it seems tkk ok show a base with a special clip but for 2008 model they try to sell me a base with std type aerial socket.
Did they change over the years from std type to clip type?

Is anyone able to advise if changing the aerial base fixes DAB issue too please? DAB doesn't work at all, FM is patchy.
