Technical radio problem

Bought a W reg. 1.2 elx today and there is a problem with the radio. The dealer said that the previous owner had their own radio fitted and has fitted the original one back in its place. I have a code card for it but on the radio display it just says CHECK and the code cannot be inputted. Any ideas please.

try and disconnect the battery and leave it for half hour it will reset everything and should work then if not buy a aftermarket there alot been than the factory ones anyway
