Technical Radio not working and affecting electrics

Hi,

My radio stopped working last week and it affected all the commands on the control panel on the dash. I took it into a Fiat specialist, told them it started with the radio showing flashing colours and then not working, and then various lights coming on, on the dash - check electronic break; hill start not break disabled; ESC not working etc.
Fiat plugged in to computer to find fault, but nothing showed. They then spent 5 hours trying to find fault and at the end of that, informed me it was the radio and that it would need to be replaced. Fiat have offered to pay 50%, but I've still had to pay for the labour and the remainder of the new radio. Is this a design fault or am I liable. My vehicle is a 500 X 2016.

Hi,

I’ve got a 500x on a 67 plate and the same thing is happening to me. The radio/screen can be working one minute then dead the next. I also have warning lights come up at random times (usually when I’m driving) the check electronic break, stability control off were the main two.
Like you, I’ve taken it to the dealership but they can not find anything wrong as the blooming radio started working when they were driving it.
I’ve noticed this only happens when the weather is hot ( not the car engine)
When did yours occur (weather wise) and did they say why the radio was faulty and how did you get 50% off, is it a design fault??
