Hi everyone,
Im a new member around here, and I found this community beause of one problem with my radio as the title sugests, my car is a fiat Punto from 2000

My old radio broke so a friend of mine gave me an old fiat Punto Radio, i installed it and he gave me one code, but said he wasn't sure if it was the right one.
The radio displayed "Wait" and i entered the code several times, than the message changed to "Identify". I dont know what to do at this point so I came here to ask for some help.

I would be glad if someone could help me
Merry Christmas

(PS:Sorry if my english is not to good :)

If the display show " WAIT ", it means that someone has entered the wrong code too many times. When the display shows " WAIT " you need to leave the radio and ignition switched on continuously until the display shows "CODE", then " - - - - ", then enter the correct code. Depending on how many times a wrong code has been tried, the waiting time could be up to 24 hours.

I have never seen " Identify " on the display so don't know what that means.

I think that varesecrazy may be right, because i did what you said about leaving the car and the ignition on and then the display switched to "Identify" instead of the typical "Code" that I was expecting.
I searched all over the internet and found nothing about how to solve this problem

On cars that have the radio code stored in the Body Computer, when fitting a replacement radio, you just enter the code for the replacement radio and the BC automatically stores the new code. This system would only work if your replacement radio is compatible with the BC, so if your car has a BC (I don't know if a 2000 Punto has a BC or not) and your "old fiat Punto" radio is from a car prior to the introduction of the BC in Puntos, then it would not work.

Thank you very much for your help Darven. Should I replug the radio to see if it helps?
