This is my tribute to my punto, i sold it too my mate on the 11th of this month and on the wednesday after the 14th he roled it with my mate and my self init it was gutting cant believe its gone!!!!
R.I.P Punto you will be sadley missed

Seriously though, glad you are not so badly injured that you can post on here. How on earth did he manage to roll it? They are not notoriously top-heavy.

we all got out sound jus walked away not a scratch on us, it was on a country lane, he slammed on to miss sumthin an the wheels locked up we went up an embankment an the car flipped onto the p/s an slid down the road then roled onto its roof an carried on sliding it was heart breaking, it did the job tho, safe car ad say, an thank god for seatbelts

Ahh yes, if he hit something sloped, that would explain it. There's a lot of grease on the roads at the moment, I've noticed even my traction 'AA' tyres have been having a slide here-and-there where they haven't before.

Good job that your mkII has Four Euro-NCAP stars. If I did that in my two-star mkI, I would probably be trying to extract the steering column from my lung. I convinced my lady to get a mkII purely on the basis that it was the safest supermini in her price bracket. If it weren't for that, she said she might have had a CORSA! Yikes!

yea only real damage was the top of the windscreen shattered, an the roof jus above dinted in slightly an the driver door crushed down a tiny bit, was scarey to be in tho, it all happend so quick but wen it was happenin it was like slow motion, ded hard to explain

ive jus bought a peugeot 205 1.4 XT, ino ino its not a fiat, but that dont mean ive falling out with fiat, i jus like the 205

You cannot really go wrong with a 205. There are a lot still on the road, which makes me suspect that they had very few design faults, and that reliability is good.

PHEW!!!! i expected to get slated for going away from fiat, yea must admit even against todays cars i still think the 205 is quite the looker, nice to drive its like a large go-kart no other way to describe it i dont think

I think I would have to stray from Fiat if I had to have a newer car, unless I could get another Punto mkI.

My trouble is that I have a phobia of power-steering. My rack-and-pinion is like a Gigabit ethernet, providing a tonne of information to my fingertips about the front-tyre grip. You put power steering in, and the communication is more like smoke-signals on a foggy day.
