Best to get these things right.

So she wasn't a warmonger then?

Mr Foot could say all he liked in opposition. Would he have had the courage to send servicemen and women out to possible death? He was speaking from the luxurious position of not being the one to make the decision. Mrs T of course tried to avoid a war, but then it was unavoidable had the decency to right, by hand to the family of every member of the military killed in action.
The actions of a witch?

Sorry had a comprehensive education, Maggie brought that in. And having to type on a phone with my big fingers. Still never mind. Share the love.

Normally on a forum such as this it doesn't matter, of course. Who cares?
But when an adult chooses to be deliberately offensive just for a laugh, don't you think they are asking for it to be pointed out?

21 years and a new leader
I might have already put this, I can't be sure because senility is setting in, but one of her biographers said the other night on Question Time that when she was asked what her greatest achievement was, she replied "Tony Blair"

It doesn't bother me, I'm an adult. I mean fancy starting a R I P Maggie post, on a fiat sorry Fiat forum, and then getting all hot and bothered, when people take offensive. I know it's hard to take but a lot of people hated her. Stick to the panda post, I used to have one, great little car. X

Your beardness, your wisdom knows no bounds, and I agree with 99% of what you say.
But, wouldn't South Yorkshire police have been better admitting that they didn't know what was happening (despite having CCTV to look for hooligans - surely if that can pick out yob's faces at 75 metres, it could tell a crush from a riot?). To then try to smear the fans as all being drunken animals was not right was it? Of course plenty of them would have had a pint or 4 on the way to the ground, but the fabrication that followed was indefensible surely?
It was not Mrs T's fault though!
You're right of course, but I think the biggest mistake S. Y. Police made was to think of damage limitation in terms of covering up instead of explaining their position. With regard to CCTV, I'm not sure what coverage there was, but the quality even now, is not as good as we'd like to think. Our Digital Image Database has images taken from cameras in shops, pubs, petrol stations and buses. Even taking into account that many of the images are enlarged, the quality is, frankly, rubbish. In fact I haven't seen images that poor on my home TV since 425 lines. The quality 20-odd years ago was even worse.

Most people confronted with evidence from CCTV today would ask: "Is that all you've got? If so I'll be on my way."

I can only answer for myself and I would ignore it, as I have Ignored commenting on that dreadful disrespectful song.
Yes I was no fan but for me there's a huge difference between disliking and hating, and as I said early she did some things good.

Mr foot pushed and pushed Maggie, in the house's off parliament to invade and retake the Falklands, I was listening at the time on the radio. But she dithered for some time. She had been in secret talks with the Argentine junta to repatriate the population and share sovereignty. "But let's privatise her funeral, put it out to competetive tender, and accept the cheapest bid. It's what she would have wanted". X X
You can't just launch a military operation involving soldiers, ships, armoured vehicles and aircraft at a moment's notice, Unless you're Barack Obama, or Ronald Reagan.

She also couldn't make threats she was unable to back up. Ships like Canberra and Atlantic Conveyor had to be requisitioned. The French had to be persuaded not to supply the Argies with more Exocets, Paras had to be recalled from leave, and the Yanks had to be persuaded to provide satellite imagery. My brother worked for 4 days flat (he smelt a bit when he came back) at BAe to alter the Vulcans to carry conventional bombs rather than nuclear.

All the time this was going on, along with negotiations in the UN, the forces were getting ready. Then there was a number of press releases to try and stall the Argies while still getting ready.

If Gordon Brown, Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell were to die tomorrow, let's hope that the thoughts would be for them as people, as Father's and brothers, not what they stood for.
Anyway, off to watch Lee Mack on the telly now. Night all!

Not going out? Damn, missed it. Never mind, it'll be on Dave tomorrow.

This woman created so much misery. How many people died because of her immoral and probably illegal actions and how many people committed suicide as result of her legislations.
She allowed people in positions of power to do as they wished with little or no punishment/ramifications for their actions therefore as a result in life as in death she bears that responsibility.

She may well deserve a dignified funeral service??
However it should not be one with military honours and at the cost of the tax payer, especially when the public are so obviously showing their DISGUST at footing the £10 MILLION cost!

Apparently we live in a DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, governed by MP's elected to SERVE THE INTEREST OF THEIR CONSTIGUENTS.
Let true DEMOCRACY show then.....

Or due we live a DEMOCRATIC DICTATORSHIP where our interest are only served when it suit the government and the MP's

I say DING DONG>>>DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD
