Re: Well..............................

hows this for kinda romantic, a few weeks my bf was due to come and visit (we in a long distence thing) he's currently 300ish miles away, he had to cancel the visit due to work commitments, i was sulking a lil, cause was looking forward to seeing him, when got a text asking if i fancied a drink, looked up and he was standing there with a bunch of oriental lily's and a bottle of wine... corny and cheesy, butit still makes me smile

Re: Well..............................

this was a one off.. although, sure he could give a few pointers ;)

Re: Well..............................

I also have had a long distance relationship (which is still long distance but she goes to Uni in Nottingham so it's better than it was in some ways :) ). The "best" thing I can remember doing was in year 12 - our half terms were seperate weeks so I said I would go during the weekend in between, before my half term and after hers.

What she didn't know is that I had emailed her mum (that's what she gets for forwarding jokes from her mum ;) ) asking if she minded me staying from the wednesday until the following weekend - she had an inset day anyway and her half a day on thursday. She was really upset seeing me go at the first weekend and it was really horrible for me to go knowing I would be back but she couldn't know. I had asked her friend to ask to meet her in the park after school on the wednesday and she agreed. Who was waiting for her instead, drenched in the freezing rain holding sodden flowers? Me :D Never seen a smile so big lol. :)

Re: Well..............................

I'm an answer D person. I did it on Friday. I was in Tesco and I don't normally pay attn to the flower stand but there were these big smelly things which looked like overgrown pink daisies and I knew Nic would like them so I bought em and a box of her fave choccies. I don't need a favour. Well not yet anyway. hehe.

I think the most romantic thing I have done for her is pick her up from work (let me finish! lol) and she was expecting me to take her home. I took her back and told her to pack her bag for a couple of nights. She is a big fan of owt oriental especially the food, so first me her and Custard (my car) went to Leicester to the coolest oriental tapinyaki restaurant ever. It's called Terra Cota on Highcross St if anyone knows it. She loved it. When we left there late at night, we stayed at my rents house in Leicester and then in the morning we started driving again (she still didn't know where we were going) and I took her to Stratford-upon-Avon for the weekend. Reason being she is an English Lit student and loves owt to do with Shakespere and on the way back "Up North", we stopped off at Cadbury World in Brum (my fave bit!) and we had a great time. Most women love choc.

Also surprised her once with a pair of tickets for us for a week in Spain too. Spent most of the week in Barcalona. If you haven't been there before. You must go. We travelled in from our resort an hour away on he bus 2 days on the trot cuz we liked it so much and we still didn't do everything we wanted too. The zoo is great there too. City breaks have never really caught my eye before but after that holiday, i'm up for trying another, somewhere like Prague or Geneva or somewhere in Italy next.

Re: Well..............................

Most romantic thing I ever did? Took a day off work without her knowing. Went into Leeds and bought loadsa ingredients for a meal that I had never even heard of before but liked what i saw in the cook book. Also bought some wine to go with it (My Dad is a wine snob). Kicked my Dad outta the house for the night. Picked her up and took us to the cinema, as planned. then brought her back to mine and surprised her with the meal. I even spent hours earlier in the week selected a CD that we'd both like. Candles, music, the lot! Took me ****ing hours to plan and prepare but the look on her face made it all worth while.

Dedicated songs and stuff in the past but that's not half as good

Re: Well..............................

I once txted in to Radio 5 when they were asking who the listeners thought were the greatest Britains and whether Britain is still great or not.

I txted in saying "sure Britain is great, my gf is a great person and she is from Britain" - 10 mins later they read it out. I had sound recorder open just incase and have the presenter saying it as a Mp3 hehe.

Re: Well..............................

No-one has ever done stuff like that for me - I consider myself lucky to get flowers to be honest! I once did the surprise meal thing for the ex but he ended up going to the chippie with his mates, came home late and stuffed so I have given up on such ideas :(.

What I hate is how a dozen red roses around Valentine's day requires you to re-mortgage your house!
