Helloooo....

sorry!

Want some opinions, if you kind folk would be so good.
Picture this:
Your partner brings you some flowers. Is it because

a. He must have done something bad and this is a pre-explanation sweetener.
b. He's in need of a favour.
c. He's still trying to get you to talk to him after being ever so bad / drunk.
d. He was just passing a florists and thought you might like them.

I'll explain the reasons for asking later if anyone's interested, don't worry - it's not a psychological evaluation test or anything!

Cheers,

Re: Well..............................

i would think that daryl had a brain transplant :D but i will go with A its normally the reason :D

Re: Well..............................

It depends on the bloke to be honest. I would usually say they want something or have done something bad but once I have been pleasantly surprised when a bloke turned up on a first date with a bunch of flowers for me :)

Re: Well..............................

yep, definitely D, although as helz says, he often depends on the bloke

The point is also that if someone like Pete gave a lady flowers it would be a very different situation to someone like my scumbag ex buying a lady flowers.
I take that as a compliment, thank you! :)

Thanks all for the replies. The reason I'm asking is that every time bar one that I've presented a lady with flowers, I've had replies along the lines of "Flowers mean guilt" or "oo thanks - What are you after?"

Thing is, I always just think it's nice to do something like that without a particular reason - say like choice D above. There's nothing like letting someone know they're special. Maybe I'm in the minority!

I am going to buy my gf some flowers when she's back to Nottinghan next weekend and cheers for reminding me Pete. I am sometimes not nice to her so for me it will be an apology for never getting my priorities right (it's true, i never in the last year or two have sorted priorities out correctly :( ) I used to be good at little gestures like this but I have lost the knack recently :(

May we ask why you're asking Pete?

If my partner bought me flowers I would be a little bemused though :p

i like to not know when im gonna get em, if that makes sense, a previous bf i went out with used to get me a single rose pretty much everytime i saw him, which got to much, it lost all its spontaneity, and felt like he was getting just for the sake of being 'romantic' .. when in fact it just felt like the opposit. not when i recieve flowers from my current bf, i knows its cause he's een them and is thinking about me... or (just to sound really corny) he wanted to make me smile..  sickening lol

Just wondering what the general consensus was, seems on average that most blokes use them as an apology. Nobody seems to expect a nice gesture for the sake of it - seems few people would automatically think the object was to brighten their day.
