I have been a loyal customer of FIAT in India. But recently there has been lot of management changes happening at FIAT India. I believe all these are for good for FIAT in India & their customers.

There has been lot of romours flying around, like FIAT to SHUT down in India & things like that. To my suprise, FIAT India has not given any denial or comments on these rumours either in press or TV.

I also read a news about FIAT sigining MoU with TATA (indian auto major) for some alliance. But when this alliance, decides to start producing FIAT cars under TATA brand..what will happen to existing FIAT customers who have bought Palio's from FIAT India from year 2001. Will they get service from this new alliance?

Any one in this forum will be able to throw some light on FIAT's plan on Indian operations?

Also please note that India does not figure in list of countries where FIAT operate in www.fiat.com.

I can't see Fiat pulling out of India, it's a huge and growing market!

Fiat Spa has decided to recall the head of its India operations, Paulo Castagna, who took over as MD at Fiat India just three months ago. Sources said the Indian subsidiary is likely to close down operations in India, sell its land in Kurla, a central suburb of Mumbai, and shift its manufacturing operations to Tata Motors’ Pune plant

Hello hasopi. Been speaking to a couple of dealers. No one thinks Fiat is leaving. But the plant may shift from Mumbai to Pune.

Fiat are going into a lot of joint ventures with various companies, but that doesn't mean they are going to stop selling Fiats in India or that Fiat dealers will dissapear overnight.

hi, could that be a certainity, coz i'm putting off my plans to get the FIAT Petra (Siena previously). I just didn't want to go thourgh the trauma of having purchased a car that would no longer be serviceable!!! :(

I wonder how such beautifully engineered cars can be run down the tube ? It has to be a study in hwo to screw up. I am amazed at how FIAT has managed to screw every possible thing while selling and servicing the cars in India (by far the largest possbile market for them ?)
