qubo help needed

Hi, newbie here. I have a 2014 qubo. The open bonnet/hood warning light shows in instrument panel but it is closed. I think I have identified a little sensor near latch but Fiat want to charge to replace whole unit £90. Is this the correct sensor and should i take a trip to breakers yard? cheers

Cut the 2 wires at the sensor, Join the ends of the wires going into the wiring loom.....see if light goes out.
If it does, make sure join is good and insulated, just rember to make sure bonnet is fully closed after opening.....like the olden days before bonnet lights.

thanks. I decided to just tape up the spring pin and its done the trick. I must say I found my Fiat dealer very unhelpful.
