Hi I'm new on here can anyone tell me why the battery on my 2011 Qubo does not hold up I have had a new battery fitted 2 months ago.
Every couple of weeks I can't start it.
Has the stop start got anything to do with it?
Warning light days its disconnected stop start.
Thanks for your help in advance

Hello Kentman and welcome to the forums

Is the battery the right one for the vehicle and is it suitable for a vehicle with Stop/Start?

Personally I dont't like Stop/Start - it eats batteries in my experience, and as such its the first thing to get disabled.

Im sure others will be along here soon that are far more familar with FIAT battery isssues than me. and offer some more enlightenment

Hi Kentman, There are plenty of things to consider but on my experience the first thing to check is that your new battery is actually OK. You would not be the first to get a duffer, so don't rule it out. After that check the charge rate is good. Not voltage, but the amperage output of the alternator. That would be my second port of call. There are some good threads to search on here with lots of ideas. Good luck.

Hi :)

Yes..always a concern with a recent purchase

Obvious things 1st:

Is the radio often on when you get in?
( leave a CD in it..)

Do you do enough trips to keep the battery in good charge?

Are there aftermarket add.ons ?

Camera.. satnav..reversing kit ??

They will all take a toll if not isolated with the key out

My mum doesnt do enough miles nowadays..

So a struggling battery is a constant :(

I fitted one of the ciggy lighter volt meters..
at the turn of the key you see:

Battery charge.. then alternator output

Not bad for £4.. from ebay..

a clean and tool free investment (y)

Beyong that involves a bit of time
