just noticed in the pic that the number matches the one i took apart down the garage!
c514513 which nigel is quite right in saying its listed as a punto part.

Allenhelen can you have a look what yours number is and what year your car is.
the number is in a triangle near the passenger side drive shaft.

*edit: just looked on my cento which i KNOW has the original box the number is C514.5.13.19
"identical" to the cento box I stripped the other day. all 3 boxes are from P-reg 97 sportings

well even on a standard N/A there is point in fitting as it will allow you to keep power on on bends that would otherwise require you to let off the throttle.

fitting is WILL be a piece of pi$$ you can do it with the gearbox in situe once the rear/passenger mount is undone and the engine drops back slighly (see pic above. the diff basicly fell out of the car when i was doing the bolts back up.) little fiddlely undoing the top bolts but wont take more then a couple of hours... so long as you have a crown wheel to fit! so keep this in mind.

I would suggest the easiest solution would be fitting a 6 speeder from a Panda or Tipo??

I'll have look tomorrow, hopfully all the slush surrounding the car will have melted by then so will save me digging it out

Oh and mine is 97 manufactured in 96 i think, but god only knows what is fitted as there is not a lot of the origional car left

what!!! does that mean il need to unchain him?:mad::mad::p

PMSL!! You can let him try it on someone elses before you decide to get one of these as well (highly recommend you do as you going turbo!) If only i hadn't started with the decorating the house i wouold have had 2 of these. Just hoping one of the spares a few have ordered will still be available by the time i got money back in the bank

I (now )grasp what the diff does ( thanks wiki) but dunno why this one make its soooo much better than the one i have?

Basically, LSD will send power to the wheel with grip and less to the one without, so more power going to where its needed thus better grip and handling.. So if you watch a car without LSD hammering it around the inside wheel spinning due to the weight transfer caused by the cornering, this won't happen with an LSD. It will also go someway to preventing torque steer which turbo cento's are bad for.
