you cant really stretch it.it will need to be round to fit the filter end.
if its for a cento you can get a reducer elbow as seen on the GSR's(though not designed as such)
to bring the filter into the same sort of area

closest you will get to that is a 45o bend really.silicone pipe is too hard to do that kind of shape unless you pay for a custom mould.this for the punto?

thought as much when you were going for the rear engine area.you can get the filter in that position with a reducing elbow.

yeah I know I just wanted to keep the internal volume as large as possible for as long as possible, using an oval hose like that would have achieved that.

well you have the other effect of the air speed increasing with a reducing hose.

Theoretically you pass the same volume of air through a smaller tube at a higher speed it's all good till you hit a joint... at a higher air speed you're more likely to get disruptive turbulence. Thus my thought was keep the tube volume as large as possible for as long as possible and reduce the pipe just before it enters the throttle neck. Fluid dynamics, such a b**ch

lol well it works for GSR so i would give it a try.the pipes not to dear from SFS as i priced one before

I've not seen the GSR kit for the punto but if it's like the cento seen here it's just a once piece reducer, I'm looking to go from the back of the engine bay under the battery tray to the front bumper before the air filter.
