Punto's & Strut Braces...

Hi all! First thread so apologies in advance if in wrong area.

I have a Fiat Punto MKIIB Sporting with the 1.4 16v motor and can't for the life of me find an upper top brace that's a direct fit?! There are loads for the 1.2 16v but none that I can see for the 1.4 16v. Has anyone else had the same probs?

The one I particularly fancied was the Ultra Racing Strut Brace but again 1.4 16v not listed. Has anyone modded their motor to make this fit or will it go straight on?

Any tips or suggestions or recommendations would be a massive help!

wouldnt bother tbh

The problem as well is alot of strut braces interfere with the brake fluid tank - meaning you have to cable tie it to the brace

And i didnt think the body was any different on the 1.2 to the 1.4?

Cheers Ziggy, I believe the body is the same on the 1.2 & the 1.4 but the positioning of the bits and bobs around the back of the engine bay are slightly different by the looks of things. The air box is bigger but I could be wrong.

Gazella racing have one on their site but would love to get the Ultra Racing Brace to fit, although dont want to be moving stuff around if I'm being honest. I might just order one and see what I have to do...

Why not make one? Most of the aftermarket ones are carp anyway!

But you're unlikely to feel any difference, even on a track, unless you run really sticky tyres.
