i need help ive got a fiat punto yr 2000.it smokes a bit and sometimes seem like choke stuck on.i have been told sensors need cleaning.i have never owned a punto before i love my little car and need it daily for work.also it uses a bit of water sometimes but excellent on oil.can anyone give me some advice please.am very worried.thanks:confused:

What colour?

Blue tinge = oil
Dark black = over fuelling
white = steam = water
Grey = normally okay

grey smoke at start up could be termed normal as there are carbon deposit possibly in the exhaust,but grey smoke is not normal once a car is up and running and means something is not quite right exhaust/cat could do with a clean or the MAF sensor is not 100% being the more common ones.But it could be a sign of injector wear too,the list is quite long as to what it could be but normal it is not,common yes..

Injector worn out on a . Punto is somewhat very very rare

Ablocked injector more likely dribbling instead of a super fine mist to aid detonation

A simple injector test for resistance could help for a dead but not clogged

Op - what sort of runs are you dojng? Long or short?

Btw grey and blue is hard to tell
but this is blue
cyl1 worn rings, using 1l of oil per 400miles
