Hello,
I recently bought a Fiat Punto 188 HGT, sadly it needs a new exhaust manifold.
The Punto has the 188A6.000 engine installed.
As I found out that the Barchetta has the same engine as the Punto HGT.
The 183A1.000 engine version of the Bachetta has the catalytic converter sitting after the flex pipe and the 188A6.000 engine version has the catalytic converters sitting in the flex pipe.

So my question is, does the manifold and flex pipe from the Barchetta fit the Punto HGT ?
And does the 188A6.000 manifold fits together with the flex pipe of the 183A1.000 version ? Because the Punto I bought has its catalytic converter sitting after the flex pipe.

Thanks!!

The manifolds are the same PT no. on the Punto and Barchetta, both had two versions The barchetta also had the 188A6 engine. If you need one then link below has them for 65 euro. Shipped from Netherlands so shouldn't cost too much to Germany. https://barchettaparts.com/en/exhaust-engeni-2001

Or the other version for the 183A1 for 75 euro. https://barchettaparts.com/en/exhaust-engeni-183-motor

Either system should fit to the engine, but you can't mix 183A1 with 188A6 as the joins are different shapes and at different positions.

It sounds like you have an M10 version HGT with the cat under the car. The Punto HGT was sold in different variants M10 and M11.

Thanks for your detailed explanation.
So if I understood you correctly, I could use either of those manifolds and the corresponding flex pipe ?
So when they changed from the 183A1.000 version to the 188A6.000 they did not change the bolt pattern of the manifolds to the cylinder head ?

I'm no expert at all. By looking at the parts catalogue you can see the two options. The gasket is the same part number (no.2). I would stick to what is fitted to the car though. It might be possible to swap versions but they are different all the way to the exhaust silencer. Different sensors looms, different heat shields, different fittings maybe. Edit. The M11 version has 3 lamda sensors, the M10 has only one. Put your vin into the parts eper to find out the bits you need.
