Technical Punto Servo Problem..Advice needed

Hello!

I have a 2001 Fiat Punto 1.2 Hlx.
I visited one of my friends today, about 15 km. away. On my way home the servo said CLICK and the servo warning-lamp went on. I also lost my servo-steering. I stopped the car for a coulple of minutes, and when i turned it on, it was ok, until i turned the steering, then the whole thing repeated. It happend twice on my way home. Now, i went out and took it for a ride, it was ok.

Im just wondering what went wrong...

Can anybody help me please?

Yes, i mean the power-steering.....
By the way, city servo was off, so it isnt due to overheating of the servo unit....

If it's an intermittant problem just get a new battery and see how that helps, cured mine! Much cheaper than replacing steering aswel. It's just not getting enough power.
Even if the battery reads as fine and everything else is working. It's probably just worn out, so replace
