Hi all. My Punto has recently given a transmission warning light and is not pulling right. I had already decided not to throw any more money at this car, so opted to put it towards a new one instead. (I got a Skoda Roomster).
It previously had a transmission warning light which turned out to be caused by confused electrics (due to water getting into a rear light). But I think it means it, this time. Anyway - I have put it on SORN and parked it off the road. Now trying to figure out how best to get rid of it.
The bodywork isn't much use for spares, as it is very liberally dented (mostly before I got it, I should add) - and it's also missing one wing mirror. Are other parts likely to be useful to anyone? Or am I looking at scrap value only? I'm in Reading, Berkshire, by the way.

weighbridges are paying about £130 per tonne for scrap cars, A punto is about a tonne.

Do as suggested, stick it on facebook market place/ gumtree for £400 stating the fault and see what you get offered.

I got shot of our Seat for scrap. I kept the battery and a few other little bits and although it still had an MOT is got me £110. Its easier to do it this way. Ive tried the parts breaking way, but you end up with a hulk, possibly not movable to get rid of at the end. I would just take the scrap value. Sad but best option
