Punto Selctra

My missus has a Punto Selectra,and has complain that it keeps loosing
power and cutting out, not all the time, mainly when its been stood overnight or through the day on the works car park.
Any body come across this if they have a selectra

My father had a Panda Selectra, nothing but problems, avoid all selectra if you can.

If it is losing power and cutting out, this is to do with the engine not the gearbox. The fact that the vehicle is a (please note the spelling) "Selecta" is academic.

Assume the Punto is the 1.1 version, so look to fuel filter, plugs and leads etc.
