The sheer number of 330d/ 530d models that are spitting turbo's out at about 100,000 miles gives you a clue anyway... Seems to be a common problem with them.
All BMW diesels introduced to the UK (since they started in 1994 with the 325td, 325tds SE, 525td, 525tds, 525tds SE) have been turbo-charged.

And they did a version of the 7 series in the late 70's early 80's that I am pretty sketchy about, but it was called the 745i and had a turbocharged 3.0 litre straight-six.
BMW are also considering turbo-charging the current 3.0 litre straight-six to give a 135i and 335i (although probably not a 535i as this would take sales from the V8 versions). It is rumoured to produce about 300bhp and would be a low-pressure turbo rather than a banzai-nutter
