Hi,friends!
I would like to put stiffer (then stock) front springs on front shock absorbers.I bought Bilstein B8 SPRINT shock absorbers for Punto.Does anyone know is there any spring(stiffer for up to 40%) from some other car that is similar to stock Punto JTD spring?
I`ll be very thankful for useful answer .
Best regards !

That is exactly what I need :D . Do you have any proper solution or you think stock spring is enough?

You could use the HGT roll bars with polybushes all around. Mine has 70,000 mile shocks so could do with an upgrade and the rubber bushes will be worn. but it still handles well.

I would go for uprated shocks, but keep to standard spring rates.

If you have ever ridden a 1970's Suzuki bike (especially the 2-strokes) you'll appreciate the horrible handling of soft shocks and hard springs. They pogo, jiggle and the wheels skip about.

WhiteSei, you'll have to let me know where you get the polybushes for the HGT if I do have one.

To the OP: the advantage of upgrading the roll bar over the spring stiffness is that the ride will still be perfectly pliable rather than rough. The disadvantage is that the stiffer bar will lift the inside wheel, overloading the outside wheel, biasing the front-rear characteristics towards understeering.

Hi Mike, I've no idea where to get polybushes, but if I ever do get any I'll post the info.

Anti roll bars work by using the spring force on the unloaded wheel to add to the spring force on the loaded wheel. They remove grip from the side which already has the least grip. Its the usual compromise too little and body roll peels they tyres off the road. Too much unloads a wheel and you understeer.

The HGT has the balance about right and the engine is no anorexic so try one of those on the JTD. New shocks will make a big difference maybe the OP's shocks are just shot.

The OP does have B8s though. Actually, B8s are the shortened 'Sprint' shock absorbers, so they will actually be too short for stock springs. You need B6 'Sport' for stock spring length, or shorter, uprated springs.
