Technical Punto Hunting

Hi,

I have a 2005 Punto 1.2 8V that is hunting on idle.

I have only recently got the car and one of the first things I did was change the rocker cover gasket. I don't think it was hunting like this before I changed the gasket....

I have recorded a video below and I have searched the forum for similar things without any luck......It does this all of the time, it is not intermittent.

Any help is much appreciated.

Wow thats fairly extreme!

I am not sure about the 8V but with the 16V weird stuff can happen if the temperature sensor gets air bubbles passing over it. Try unplugging the temperature sensor.

Have you got a cable accelerator. Is it possible the engine is pulling on the cable in some way??
