General Punto Fuel Pump

I have a 2000 mark 2 Punto with a 1.9 JTD. Wednesday morning i found the the car in the parking lot with one of the windows smashed and the bonnet open and the fuel pump (and im guessing fuel injection system missing). When i insured the car i stupidly didnt insure it for such an instance. The shop gave me the price for a rebulit fuel pump to be €1,500 (i live in italy). Plus they would have to replace the entire fuel line system. By the time they were done they estimate the cost to be around €2,500. I bought the car for 2,800. Does anyone have any advice? Any ideas where i could find the part cheaper? Or the part number? Im pretty lost for ideas.

Deisel fuel pumps are very expensive, but this the first time I've heard of one being stolen. No real ideas apart from shopping around. ePer should throw up a part number.
