Hiya All,

My clutch has been playing up now for a couple of weeks & I'm scared to get it checked out as I may get ripped off.
The clutch struggles to go down, it's really tight. Now it's started shaking when pressed & making a whistling noise.
Is this something really simple and cheap to fix or will I need a new clutch?

Cheers!!
Ani

sounds like its failing.

clutch kit (not from fiat) costs between £35-60
labour I got it done for £100 inc vat etc, so it can be done very cheaply.

Its likely to be the same as what happned to mine (do a search with my username and clutch etc), the pictures show you what happens if you ignore that noise:devil:

Yeah what you have described it as it sounds like the release bearing with the pedal going hard and all if it is be best to get the whole clutch kit that way you know its all new and been replaced.. Is the pedal clicking by anychance the whistle noise is it like a whirring sound like somethings catching look around the garages some do a free clutch check...

It does kind of sound like a whirling noise. I've spoke to a clutch specialist this morning who said for a whole new clutch would cost £180 including labour does that sound like a decent deal?

i got quoted 150 for parts and £400 for labour by fiat, i took it elsewhere and got it all done for £150, deal with it quickly though, i left mine and smoke came out the engine :bang:

£400... I bought my clutch kit for £50 out the moterfacter shop and i know a mechanic that has his own little garage he took £60 for fitting it all in £110... (y)
