I've had ago a fitting an old pioneer tape player head unit to my 126. I bought it off ebay under the usual sale of "in good working order". I wired it up ok enough but now the display pulses when the music is on and the sound distorts even at half volume....... I'm pretty sure I've wired it up correctly (ive done enought off them over the years) so does anyone know what could cause this?

Sounds like not enough juice in the battery tbh if it's a high juice requiring amp built into it. Need to see if it does the same when the engine is running and the alternator charging.

Ahhh Funilly enough I think my ignition problem may well be a battery problem. So do you think that could cause sound distortion?

Ok I put the battery on charge last night and gave it another go this morning and it's still doing it although it seem that your spot on about it not getting enough power. When you play music it's fine until you turn the bass up and it starts pulsing. If I switch the "loud" funtion on it turns into Blackpool eluminations! Lol so I really need to get the car running for a real test
