If you are on or have access to the local cable network youy could also clone a modem and use that.
Pretty easy to do, just clone the mac address of someone else on the cable network at the other side of town, and put that in your modem. Get a splitter, keep your own modem for your own internet connection emails/banking etc, use the clone on another pc for downloading.
Ive done it myself, I pay for the L package on Virgin, and then I have a clone with runs at 20mb XL for downloading. As the modem you are using is a clone there is no subscriber information attached to it so your laughing.
There are other ways of tracking you though, like the MAC address of the network card in the PC (dont use the same one on both connections) and also dont go checking your virgin/ntl/tw POP email accounts over it either.
There are loads of sites out there with FAQ's and stuff... but obviously this is for educational purposes only
