Hi everyone,
I have a 2017 Fiat Tipo, and I attempted to enable CarPlay by modifying a few configuration bits in Proxy Aligment using Multiecuscan — no hardware changes, no module replacements.
During the process, the Proxy Alignment failed midway, and since then the car has developed the following issues:
Dashboard is flashing non-stop;
I hear clicking/relay noises when turning the ignition on;
The engine won’t start at all;
I can no longer access the BCM via Multiecuscan (connection fails or times out).
I used a USB ELM327 with FTDI chip and the blue adapter for MS-CAN. Battery was fully charged during the procedure.
Now I’m trying to understand:
Is this a recoverable configuration issue I can fix myself by reverting the bits or forcing a new Proxy Alignment? (I backed up the original bits to a notepad before modifying anything)
Or do I need to take it to a shop with a professional diagnostic tool (like Autel or WiTECH) to reset the Proxi configuration or reprogram the BCM?
My main concern:
Is this likely just a software/configuration conflict, or could the BCM or another module be physically damaged?
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
