So after thinking my wierd compression and lack of power was a head gasket I've had the pleasure of finding it was actually the crank pulley key that is no longer part of the crank!

I have a freshly rebuilt head which isn't the end of the world as it had started to blow between 1 and 2 but I now need a new crank pulley. A friend of mine has done a brilliant temp fix using a 4mm drill bit but that was only to get me home.

Anyone got one I could buy?

Engine is a p60 but I think they're all the same on fire engines?

I could nick the one off my freshly acquired p75 but that would really just be delaying the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

if it is the same pulley as a SPI sporting where is alpha patches patch? And do you mean the alternator pulley on the crank or the cam belt pulley on the crank I know I had the former not sure about both? Not being funny I cleared some one else's garage/garden while collecting a spare gear box in 09, memory from 09 foggy.

Note I'll need to see if it was in scrap bin or has gone to scrap mans patch It is some time since I cleared out.

Well I will speak with this 'big mick' fellow I've heard so much about as a new one would definately be preferable.

It's the cambelt pulley for the crank which I need.

Thanks for your help guys.

Just out of interest, how did you break it?

By driving the car!

The engine had a bit of a chequered past but is all good now/soon.

It is a quick little beast with the head now skimmed and freshly lapped valves. Just need to get a spacer made up for the 38mm throttle body and it should be some good fun. The bigger tb was on when I got it but still with the 30ish mm spacer! Some people ;)
