Do i loktite propshaft bolts please?
A small drop will not hurt and if too hard to remove a little heat from a hot air gun usually softens it.Do i loktite propshaft bolts please?
And the problems you were getting are now all resolved? So works are completed.
Removal was relatively straightforward the bolts are allen key which is unpleasant in so much that they are unforgiving if you're struggling to undo them. The shaft was stuck in each flange as there is a dome on each end of the shaft into the mating face. A swift bash in a front to back direction got it out.
New shaft was a beauty and fitted perfectly with further allen head torment when tightening.
All in swap out time was 2 hours
I thought I had finished all my work on mine but I fear the rear differential is giving up.Road test next. New clutch and DMF is preventive maintenance
Mine feels like it is slipping on the drive axels. I’m hoping it may be a CV joint but I think it is actually a new rear differential needed.I had the brake fluid changed when the new turbo was fitted. The clonking last week was the fact the wheel nuts weren't done up and n/s wheel nearly fell off
Second hand unit?Mine feels like it is slipping on the drive axels. I’m hoping it may be a CV joint but I think it is actually a new rear differential needed.
Second hand are pretty expensive and it’s entirely possible that it will then go again if it has come off an earlier 2013-2014 pandaSecond hand unit?
I think a new one is about to£600. That second hand one you posted doesn’t look like it could be off a 2021. If it is it has not faired well. My 2013 one looks in better condition than thatHow much are new ones?
To be honest, I have run out of other possibilities. I have replaced everything else@euroben Very rarely is any drive sent to the rear wheels, so are you sure you have a rear drive issue? (Only transmits drive if the fronts are spinning on mud or snow.) You can force 4x4, but that is not advised when its not needed ( and must never be done on tarmac) as it leads to potential damage through wind-up (as there's no centre diff, if 4x4 is forced on a grippy surface there's no where to release any front to rear rotational differences)
Its all turning all the time. Rear drive only happens when the clutch activates in the rear diff and allows thediff to accept drive from the turning prop. When i put my car in gear to remove the propshaft the drive is definitely to all four wheels. When i then drop it into neutral and turn the prop - all four wheels rotated
