General Project mk1 going good

I was toying with the idea of selling it, but i dunno how much it's worth and ill miss her, so im gonna use it now and see how it goes im sure it will be ok as it's all like new underneath and it's seen a good 17 years of rain already lol...:D

If you sell, you'll regret

It's happend numerious times on Turbo Collective

Just protect the car and see what its like after winter

3 year ago i didnt even know how an ignition system works or fuel injection system works, i just got in my turbo and turned the key and drove it

Winter, summer, sleet, snow, rain, hail, mud, road salt, etc, etc, etc, etc

I decided to strip it and scrap it because i DIDNT protect it.............because i didnt know anything about the car

You have more than enough experiance and knowledge to run it as a daily driven car

I was very gutted that it had to get rid of it actually, it never let me down and i didnt take car of it, heres a few, lol:

1) Hit a cavalier up the arse and drove home (1.5 miles) with NO coolant in the system what so ever due to a split rad
2) Drove 5 miles home on very very very low coolant levels
3) Numerios 100miles round trips without as much as a hint of failure
4) Just general lazyness towards journeys

if you get rid of it, nothing will match it for what it is.

Ive tried every type of turbo hatch instead of a UT, NOTHING has come close in terms of performance vs price! lol

Probably! lol

my mates never said anything if it did..............they wouldnt want me boasting about coz theres didnt! lmao

"**** watch out back there!......................Rolling BBQ!"........lmao

The only car that reminds me of my old uno is my mates MGZR 120...........reminds being the key word (y)

Im really really hyped about my black MK2 now that im working, just gota work for a garage to put it in and im off..........like a scalded dog! lol
That fooker will be stripped in a week no trouble.

Late nights in my garage with Pink Floyd/Rob dougan/massive attack/slipknot/prodigy/mettalica playing on the sourround speaker set-up im gona have.....................magic mate, time will fly by :D

Pop's flames lol...... wish mine did...

Any way the uno is now on the road being used every day and garaged over night, how ever after a good drive tonight the car will not idle and seams to miss fire and it's all down to the dump valve, so i'm putting the standard dump valve on there sum time this week as it went so much better with that one on there..
Other wise impressed..... very impressed for a 1.3.... **** quick. imo

So hope fully the spray job should be completed in a few weeks time and i'm picking up my doors from dragyth tomoz so i can get on with de-locking them ready for the paint job i so cant wait... :slayer:

Yeah I had no idea up until now, but it turns out that Rob's a bit of a traitor...

I mean really, I sold you the exhaust, wheels, strut brace, not only for the rust work, but because it'd help get another Uno Turbo sorted up, and one local to me, and you go off and try to sell it...

I really only brought the bleed valve to lend to you, then I sold it to you for like 3 quid.

Any chance you could take that off the description and I can have it for what you gave me for it? I really need one, I just thought you needed it more...

Must say I was a little perplexed to see this one on ebay. Yesterday the Mondeo was being sold and after all the comments about how Rob would never part with this car I was surprised. Having said that, once I'd put my Mk1 45s back on the road I had achieved what I wanted and it was time to move on. Maybe he feels the same? Time for something bigger and better, or maybe hoping to make a quick profit on his £250. If my experience is anything to go by you should get alot more than you paid for the car.

So Rob, what's the deal? Also noticed you are currently banned from ebay, what happened?

I dummped my ebay account after some one said that they never received a computer, when they did and i got stung to foot the bill got pissed off so i ended my ebay account..
As for the uno, well i cant use it every day because i work to far away and i dont think it can do the miles, and i need a bigger car and i cant afford to keep every thing so the uno will have to go and ill get a newer car..
It really does break my heart but i just dont wanna chuck another 500 quid at it then never drive it, i live in a house alone and it cost's loads soi cant afford 2 cars i just need one good one and sort out me bills and christmas etc..
The reserve is set to £800 and i dont think it will make it, if it doesent then ill keep it and finish it.
Oh and dragyth.... that bleed valve was for another deal and u wanted £3 so i belive thtas mine so stop ur moaning.

Good luck with the sale Rob. You'll make the £800 but maybe not on ebay. I sold my Mk2 for that kinda money and the Mk1 is more desirable IMO. I had loadsa interest and quite a few viewings and test drives, a couple of clowns which stand out in my mind but I guess you always get that. I sold before the end of the auction to a decent bloke who rolled up with the money, liked the car and that was that.

Couple of things I'd do if it were me. I'd put the standard wheels back on. I think this will appeal to someone looking for an original Mk1 UT more than having some aftermarket wheels which won't be to everyones taste and can easily be picked up, not so the standard wheels.

I'd also get a spraycan/touch up paint for the yellow patch on the door and spray the bootlid. Even if you don't do a great job and it's a little rough it'll look a heck of alot better.

If I had a spare £800 I'd have it off you, I've got the Strada now so will need all my spare money for that! Good luck again and remember to plug FF to the new owner!

Agreed...

You can always sell the non standard parts off separately to make up the money or even more.

Painted up will look alot better and wont put people off so much.

The one i had in the forsale section made a grand but that was sold local.

Could always watch this one and see what it goes for.

lmao! :D

****ing well said mate! (y)

Yeah you got a point but you don't see it from my point of view..

Any way, been offered £1200 cash as it is from sum guy called matt, nice chap aswell and he cares for uno's to and he wants to pick it up monday night.
Also had an offer for a vauxhall vectra sri 140 on a s reg in star silver and a few hundred quid on top...

Either way i aint gonna loose as the car stands me at like 500 quid tops so if it sells for like £1200 quid thats a nice amount of profit.

I do like the uno but i just cant afford to run two cars so ill have to make do with one, i'd like another uno but when i can afford it and maintain it..

Im sorry lad's but if there was a way to keep this car with out causing hassle then i would as i'm already gutted that she's going, you might think im silly but i do love this little uno and she will go to a good home and i will tell them about ff for sure....
And ill keep in touch if you guys want me to.. :p

C'mon man, I ain't gonna quit my moaning.

It wasn't for any other deal at all really, the strut brace covered the floor rust and the exhaust system was the sill. The wheels were the arches so Why did I sell you a bleed valve for 3 quid?

I'm well pissed that you're selling the UT, more so that my UT's gonna be standard boost because I was interested in helping a local project especially that I thought it was too slow once it reached about 50 on hills, running 1.0BAR.

Besides, I was asking you more of a personal favour to take the boost pipe off. Maybe it wouldn't affect the bids, sort of a deal.

Still, good luck selling it... not that I agree.

Rob keep the rear lights in a garage for a rainy day, £1200 is a good price considering your prob looking at another £800 to get it finished...

@ Dragyth - its a f'ing bleed valve they are cheap enough anyway lol.
