ok guys of of my projects for when i get back to uni is to sort my car out.
either need cc bumpers or im going to spray a set of plactic black ones..this is not the problem. i have had a brain wave.
when i fix the bumpers and fog lights up id like it so that when the main beam comes on (flashing other cars or just use at night) the fog lights come on aswell. firstly would this be illegal? and second would it be as simple as just taking a feed from the main beams to the fog lights but also adding a switch for perm on?
any ideas welcome
thanks alex

It can be done, technically it would work but is illegal/frowned upon.
Iwired mine up to a live feed so I can turn them on whenever. Then installed a green LED into my clock/speedo unit. Works a treat

pretty good idea, on some country roads i pop the foglights on in addition to main beam as any additional light is a bonus at times, but when a car comes it's main beam off then fogs off, which when the button is stupidly placed takes longer.

set up relays under the bonnet on the main beam to do it, the only thing is it probably is illegal, however as new cars have "turning" lights you may be able to get around it.... just disconnect come MoT time.

i don't think there's that much advantage unless you live down very narrow, twisty, muddy, country lanes and having the bright light right in front of the car can impair your longer distance vision i find especially at speed. but this could be overcome with another switch which complicates things.

well i live in the country but was also thinking for when i go and do the maccy mile in wrexham theres a nice mirror as a shop window directly opposite the junction. mate had this on his 106gti and it looked phat :) lol
