Hey guys and girls, i have a slight problem with my stilo! ive been away for a month an half traverling and left my car at work locked up, but when i got back my batt was dead! so i took it out charged it up the glass turned green again...put it back in the car and now nothing! the clock resets its self, the lights on the dash all start flashing, alarm trips out and goes off all the! ive cleaned all the batt contacts, made sure its all tight but ive got a small cable with sensor atachment on with not much wire on, so it cant go any where but in the battery box thing ive looked under the fuse box and in the box under the battery and cant for the life of me see where it goes!!!:bang: can any one shed some light on this for me? will upoad pics when i get back from work! thanks

A simple solar charger for £10 saves all this grief, 1 minute to connect it up and when you return your battery is as good as when you left it. I connect mine up if it's due to be left for even a couple of days but a month and a half is asking for real trouble. Low voltage is the serial killer for many electronic systems

Is it the battery?
Put a voltmeter across the battery terminals. Have at least 12v? ok
Now turn ignition to MAR, still have at least 12v?? Then it's not the battery and you look elsewhere

There are lots of unused connectors for options you don't have, maybe that's what you are referring to with your wild sensor?

Sorry to sound thick, but what are these solar chargers?
Where do I get them and how do I fit them?

Just brought a Stilo and am trying to learn everything about them right now including their batteries!

For keeping your battery charge at the same level then have a look

It's not for rapid charging or bringing a flat battery back to life but for simply keeping it topped up then these work well. For the Stilo then you need to connect it directly to the battery, (no good in the cigar lighter) run the leads in through the door seal and then just place the panel on the dashboard where it will get the light. It doesn't have to be direct sunlight, it will supply a trickle power from daybreak to sundown

I'm having the same problem, but it does it randomly while driving.
The dashboard lights up like a Christmastree and all the gauges sweep tyo max as well.
Battery is very recent and a higher capacity than required so I find it hard to believe that this is the cause.

I just cleaned my D4 (as well as the other 5 connectors) under the relayboard (again) and hopefully that works. I have a 4000 Km roundtrip to Dalmatia (Croatia) ahead.
The amount of muck buildup since my last cleaning session there (less than 1 yea ago) is appalling. They might aswell have placed the fuses on the roof:eek:
Extra earthcables as per this (and the Greek)forum are already in place.

Still I love (and sometimes hate) my Stilo.

Thanks though

And the answer to my problem was a "new" instrumentcluster.
Last monday I've been at YellowStilo's place and he fitted a generation 1 Abarthcluster in my MW.
Now I have the fancy extra screen to repeat the directions of Connie (my CN+).
Thanks again YellowStilo!

Hello Jeroen,

always nice to see you're happy with your "new" Abarth instrument cluster !
Keep your eyes on the road though, not just look at your fancy colour display....
