Cool I didnt know that... it sounded like I explained "fuel INERTIA CUT OFF" :D
Am I 100% right abbout everything else, cause the point is more important? Thnx...

yea close enough

when the revs are a both intended revs by a certain margin it just simply stops injecting

if you take of your air box and listen closely when the engine is running you can here the injector pulsing it's a small click noise

if you then rev it and close the throttle quick again you'll notice the clicking stops completely until it returns to idle

this is for mk1 single point injection of course as you probably wont here the injectors on multipoint

I had the same problem with mine, thought it was the syncro in the gear box. It got so bad that i had to line it up in 3rd before getting it into first, and so I couldn't double declutch and it was worse in the cold. This problem was also starting to happen on the 2nd gear as well more recently. I recently, however, changed the clutch over (3rd one already!) as the last one had done about 40k, and it is now perfect in all gears.

clutch gone in 40k you need to learn to drive and learn to the meaning of a double de clutch

what exactly are you lining up in third

Khm, I'm sorry but this is a common fault in mk2, clutch on 40K, I've come to tis conclusion after reading bunch of threads here all with 40K and the clutch

judering yes fair enoughth thats a fault but if you rag em in second it stops judering

but burning one out (if that's how all yours failed) or wearing it away is simply bad driving slipping the clutch too much and you can't blame it on a bad pedal feel either i have driven many and they have an excellent feel

what's this about common on mk2 hello the same clutch is fitted in many fiat cars mine for example is still on it's original clutch at 81k and still feels light and workable

my dad has driven many cars past 100k from new in his life and will tell you he has never worn a clutch away

Well if it judders and you stick it in second, in order for it not to continu to judder is to not let the clutch all the way up, but feel it a bit if you understand me, like when starting to move uphill fully laden, thats a first and thing that eats the clutch most

Second thing is more to the driver I agree, but I think that these engines are so fine that you can drive it from 1.5K to 7K revs, so I notice sometimes people drive too slow in high gear, now thats also a clutch eater and a juder initiator caused by drivers fault

As for double clutch when changing gears when gearbox cold, I dont do that, I just wait and feel when it can slip into gear, 1st - goooo - ....... - 2nd

Yes I agree, neither have I, but there is SOMETHING about the Mk2 Punto because I personally know two people who drive 'normally' and needed new clutches within 55,000km - and they did not need new clutches in their other cars in the past. I'm happy that yours is OK though :)
