Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.

I'm having a bit of a problem with my Punto Active Sport at the moment and i'm not sure whats causing the problem.

The battery seems to be holding a charge, though it was flat to start with. I managed to get jump cables onto it and get it started and it ran for a good bit. Now it seems that whenever i turn the key all i hear is a repeating clicking sound coming from what sounds like the fuse box area.

I located what i think caused the battery to go flat and it was the small relay on the fuse box that controlled the window washers. It was constantly switching on and off. Though i don't know if this caused the problem or the problem caused the relay to go screwy.

I've now changed the relay but i'm still getting the problem of the engine not starting. The battery seems to be holding it's charge

Any ideas on where is should look next.

Thank you in advance.

Single jump lead from engine to battery negative terminal and report back.

Sorry but i'm not getting you. I don't really know to much about trying to diagnose car faults. Can you explain a bit further please.

Take one single jump lead, colour immaterial.

Attach one end to the negative terminal of the battery.

Attach the other end to something metal on the engine.

Try starting the engine.

Report your results here.
