problem with front amped speakers

to me it sounds like one of the two wires (inside the rca cable) is broken and short circuiting itself. or it could be that one of the connectors at the head unit end isn't connected properly....

right ive checked everything new rca lead ect.. and its still only coming out of one speaker now (drivers side) even if i change the rca leads over, i really need help the only other thing to do is to take the door card off and check to make sure the conection is still ok but as its raining at the min i carnt!! does anybody else have a idea what this could be?

Could it be a x-over n the Head unit or a setting. Have you tried a different head unit. If it's old the output could be shot. You can test to see if you get a voltage through the RCA. Check the one that is working with a multi meter. Then check the other and see if it does similar things.
Sine waves should be a bit more constant. These can be downloaded from the internet.

Trust me search thurroughly on ground loop. I will try and post up a couple of old threads when i get a minute.
Basically adding an Isolator isnt actually solving the problem its just masking it. You need to solve why you are getting alternator wine. Things like RCA's running opposite side to power cables. Making sure everything is well shielded. Grounding RCA barrels etc etc. There can be a million causes, most of which i have covered in other threads and dont have the time to do again right now as my personal computer is still in the post
