i have a bravo s, with the original head unit at the moment,
and bought a pair of fiat rear speakers to fit into it. the wires are present at the back,
and i can plug them into these speakers ive bought,
but no sound comes out of them!i removed the head unit and found 8 wires going into the speaker plug in the back of it.i'm all confused.if there are only 2 speakers in the front, why are there 8 wires?and how come there are wires in the rear to plug into my new speakers,
but i cant get any sound out of them?someone help a desperate dan.

Maybe a daft question...

If there was only 2 speakers before, is the fader on the stereo set to front only?

Re: Maybe a daft question...

You say there were wires already in the back and 2 speakers in the front. Therefore 8 wires!

Sound not coming out? possibly try the fader and double check that its all wired up correctly

its a bravo s

so the stereo HAS no front/rear fader, only left/right balance.also, the wires already in the rear dont seem to match the colour
of the wires going into the back of the head unit.im quite confused by all this.help!

Re: Re: Maybe a daft question...

I believe that the wires to the rear speakers were put in all the bravos, which is why you can plug the speakers in and why there are 8 wires in the connector at the front. However, i believe the standard bravo s radio only has connections for the front speakers. try pulling the speaker cable plug ou the back of the radio and see how many pins there are there. Alternatively get an aa battery and some bits of wire and touch them momenterily on each pair of wires in the connector at the front. a click should be heard from a speaker every time you touch the battery. this way you will be able to identify which wire goes to which speaker. Then swap the front for the rear in the connector and you should get sound on the back instead of the front!

I think the only way to get sound from all 4 is to get a different head unit.

...

well ive just pulled the stereo out, and given the plug with the speaker wires in a good inspection.seems i DO need to just get a better head unit, which i was gonna do anyway,
i just have a few more things i want to buy for the car first, so i guess itll have to wait.there are 8 pins on the plug, but only 4 pins in the head unit.feck

Re: ...

Re: Re: ...

Can't help with your headunit, but mine had the 4 speaker outputs (and CD Changer control) it was the S model that didn't I think.

But if you're looking for a headunit, make sure you check out http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk The web site isn't the best looking, but they're usually cheaper than Everybody.

Speakers

The solution is that you have a fiat bravo 1.4 S, which has only the lowest radio headunit AD182L with 2x15W, that means that only 2 speakers connection are there for the front.
The rear speakers conections are there present but they arent connected to the headunit. The connection ends (UK - under the glove box),(rest of europe - on the left side), if you wnat to connect the rear speakers to the AD182L unit you must connect them throught the front speakers.
If you buy another headunit which has 4xspeakers connection than you can connect them normal.

Head unit broblem

Well, my thing is: I installed new speakers to back and removed that connector between main unit and speaker cabling and othervise it's ok, sound is even between front and back and coming loud too but theres still no fader setting despite how many buttons i press and how many times... Is there a solution for it? Car is a Bravo '01 with grundig main unit and now i can't get model number 'cause my wife took that car for holiday trip with kids.
